Maureen R. Sugrue

Latham- Maureen R. Sugrue, 80, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 with her loving family by her side. She was the daughter of the late James and Mary Sinnott. Maureen was the devoted wife to the late William Sugrue. They were married 39 years.

She was a graduate of Troy High School and went on to work for the United States Postal Service and New York State.

Maureen was a proud and active member of St. Ambrose Church, the Colonie Seniors, as well as the Verdoy Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.

Maureen enjoyed spending time and traveling with her family and friends. She loved cruises, bus trips, and enjoyed spending time in the casino.

Maureen is survived by her sons, Brian J. Sugrue and Paul W. Sugrue; grandson, Aaron Eastwood (Lauren Crunden); great-granddaughter, Caroline Eastwood; sisters, Mary Frances Sinnott and Elizabeth Duncan; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, Maureen is predeceased by her brother, Patrick Sinnott; and her sister, Catherine Shepard.

The family would like to extend a heart felt thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Albany Medical Center who provided kind and compassionate care to Maureen and her family as well as the staff at Colonie EMS.

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Road, Watervliet, New York 12189 on Monday, December 12, 2022 from 4pm to 7pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at 12pm with burial to immediately follow at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, 2501 Troy Road, Niskayuna, New York 12309.
