Maurice R. Ryan, 74, better known as "Moose" to all, of Clifton Park, passed away Thursday September 20, 2018 at Ellis hospital with his loving family by his side. Moose was born in Lake Placid, NY to the late Jeremiah and Hazel R. Fletcher Ryan, and was the devoted husband of over 50 years to the late Ceil E. Landry Ryan.
Moose worked for the Powell & Minnock Brick Company as a brick maker in Coeymans, NY, where he retired in 1998. He was an avid lover of old cars, especially his 1962 Chevy Impala and his 1955 Ford Crown Victoria. He also loved animals, often visiting shelters in his free time. One of Moose's favorite past times was dancing with his beloved wife, Ceil.
In addition to his parents and his wife, he is predeceased by his two sons, Billy John, and Robert Joseph, sister, Geraldine Mosseau, and niece, Rita Voelker Fitzsimmons.
Moose is survived by his children, Anne (Timothy) Bishop, and John (Denise) Ryan, grandchildren, Brittany, and Benjamin Bishop, and Mark Ryan, siblings, Mary Joan (Albert) Peabody, Linda (Kenneth) Voelker, Joseph (Rosemary), and Michael (Carol) Ryan, along with several nieces, nephews, and many loving friends.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Road, Watervliet, NY, 12189, on Saturday, September 29th, 2018, from 9:30 am to 10:30 am with the celebration of life service to follow at 10:30 am. The burial to take place immediately after services at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Waterford, where Moose will join his beloved wife Ceil in eternal rest.

The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to hospice, and the staff at Ellis Hospital on C4 for their compassionate care during Moose's stay, and to the Clifton Park/Halfmoon EMS department.
