Max Richter

SCHENECTADY – Max Richter, 90, of Schenectady, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 25, 2014 after a long illness.
He was born in Peru, Indiana and was the son of the late Robert and Martha Richter. Max was an airplane engine mechanic with the US Army during WWII. He had owned and operated Richter's Truck Garage in Schenectady for over fifty years. Max was a former member of the Masonic Lodge. He was a talented woodworker and enjoyed traveling and fishing.
Max was predeceased by his former wife, Madeline B. Richter and his siblings, Dorothy Allard, Robert and Richard Richter.
He is the beloved father of Diona M. Richter of Andover, NJ, Robert M. (Donna) Richter of Ballston Spa and David Richter of Albany.
Funeral services will be Saturday morning at 9:00 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie. Calling hours will be Friday from 5 to 8 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Rensselaer County, 295 Valley View Blvd., Rensselaer, NY 12144 or ASPCA, PO Box 96929, Washington DC 20090-6929 in memory of Max Richter.
