ALBANY – Maysele Valeria Dudek, 86, passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2005 at the Teresian House.
Maysele was born on January 13, 1919 in Triumph, MN and was the daughter of the late Ralph and Hazel (Fitzsimmons) Ringgenberg. She spent her childhood and young adult years in Newton, IA and Westmont, IL and moved to Lakeland, FL in 1948 after marrying Anton Dudek. She received her Bachelors and Maters degrees from Florida Southern College.
Maysele was employed by the Maytag Co. in Newton, IA prior to WWII. During WWII she proudly served her country in the US Navy Waves National Unit #29 (Specialist Q 2nd Class) and was stationed in Washington, DC. She was employed by the Polk County (FL) school system as an elementary school teacher and then for many years as a librarian, retiring in 1983.
Maysele lived a full life, enriched by her many relatives and close friends. She particularly enjoyed travel with her family and especially her daughter, bowling, bridge, and retirement with her many friends in Lakeland, FL, reunions in Iowa with family and classmates, and gardening. She especially enjoyed her final years in New York which permitted her to be with her grandchildren. Maysele's life provided many cherished memories for her family and friends who celebrate her lifelong contributions as a parent, grandparent, wife, sister, educator, and citizen.
Maysele is survived by her son, Bruce (Linsley Piper) Dudek of Niskayuna; her daughter, Kathleen Dudek of Brasstown, NC; her grandsons, Brian and Craig Dudek of Niskayuna; her sister, Ardyce Sprague of Wheaton, IL; her brothers, Ralph (Katherine) Ringgenberg of Boulder, CO, Clayton (Helen) Ringgenberg of Iowa City, IA and Lyle (Nancy) Ringgenbeg of Indianapolis, IN; and nine nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Anton Dudek and her sister, Pearl Sally.
Funeral services and burial will be at the convenience of the family and will occur in Lakeland, FL.
