McKinney James Johnson was born on October 9, 1960 in Childersburg, AL to the parentage of the late William Johnson and Barbara Johnson Shepherd. McKinney accepted Christ at an early age at Enon Missionary Baptist Church.
He journeyed to be with the Lord on April 7, 2016 at Albany Medical Center, Albany, New York.
McKinney was an amazing and loving father, sibling, and loved one to all. He loved music, movies, and the casino; Attending concerts and shows and playing his numbers were truly a way of life for him. He enjoyed traveling and annually attended Bike Week at Myrtle Beach. McKinney was a lover of basketball, as a player and a spectator.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories: Three sons: Kendarius Johnson of Sylacauga, AL; Jalon Johnson of Albany, New York; Deshawn Calloway of Childersburg, AL; Two daughters: Kaila (Darrius – Fiancé) Patterson of Sylacauga, AL; Krystal (Kevin) Hall of Talladega, AL; Five sisters: Alice Faye Johnson of Sylacauga, AL; Nina Faye (Eugene) Marbury of Childersburg, AL; Gloria Jeffries of Childersburg, AL; Ann Johnson of Rochester, New York; Angela (Jeffrey) Rudish of Albany, New York; Five Brothers: William Johnson Jr. of Birmingham, AL; Minister Clayton Jews of Vandiver, AL; Willie James Wright of Childersburg, AL; Ben (Glenda) Wright of Sylacauga, AL; Willie Charles Hamilton of Birmingham AL; Five grandchildren; One devoted friend, Michele Straight and her children of Albany, New York; One special brother, Melvin Wilson (Joe) of Phoenix, Arizona; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and other loved ones.
