NISKAYUNA-Melanie Lea Nasholts, 45, passed away unexpectedly on October 24, 2018.
She was born on December 5, 1972 in Albany, daughter of Jan Waters and Stephen Nasholts, Stepdaughter of Mark Waters.
She is predeceased by her uncles, Johnny Oliver, Edward Bovia and Ronald Bovia.
Mel or "Miss Mel", as she was affectionately known by her "kids" at Child Time and Brown School, will be remembered for her kind heart, giving spirit and her love of life. She enjoyed baking, cooking, animals, doing projects with the kids, shopping and of course spending time with her family. She was very close with her twin sister and a very devoted aunt. She will be missed by all the people who's lives she's touched.
Left to cherish her memory are her parents; her twin sister, Melissa Nasholts; beloved niece and goddaughter, Cyierra Roldan; a special aunt, Irene Oliver; close friend, Paul Rostick and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 from 2-5pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205. A funeral service will begin at 5pm on Tuesday following calling hours.
