She is also survived by her mother-in-law, Jay Marie Olivett and sister-in-law, Lisa Olivett, niece Nicole and very special friends, Charleen, Richard, and Todd Holmes and Barbara O’Connell. Melody has many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews who will also miss her.

Mel was involved with the Veterans Miracle Center, Capital Region Patriot Flight, and Tri-County Council Vietnam Era Veterans. She was the driving force behind the Veterans Miracle Center, Albany and the Founder of Battlefield and Beyond. For many years you could hear her voice on TALK 1300 AM and WKIP Poughkeepsie. Mel was also involved in 2nd Amendment rallies for years and led the annual reading of the Constitution in Albany multiple times. She met many great patriots through her activities.
