Melody L. Lyman

Troy- Melody L. Lyman, 67, passed away Thursday, October 27, 2022 at her home with her loving family by her side. She was the daughter of the late Francis and Prudence Yando. Melody was the devoted wife to her first and only love, Gerald D. Lyman, Sr.. They were married 49 years.

Melody worked for the NYS Aviation Police cleaning until her retirement. She truly loved her job and all of her coworkers.

Melody enjoyed spending time with her entire family, loved cooking for them, and sharing her mom's recipes with them too. She loved the holidays and making pies with her handsome grandson Andrew. She also loved playing dirty marbles with her family, it was a weekly tradition! Melody's sons, grandsons, and daughter-in-law were the light of her life. She was the life of every party, and truly just enjoyed having a great time.

In addition to her husband, Melody is survived by her sons, Gerald D. (Melissa) Lyman II and Eric S. Lyman; grandchildren, Gerald D. Lyman III, Nathan S. Lyman, and Andrew D. Lyman; great grandson, Jace S. Lyman; siblings, Preston, Ernie, Sandra, Shirley, Butchie, Lynn, Patrick, and Wendy; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends, including her very best friend, Jenny.

In addition to her parents, Melody is predeceased by her siblings, Gary, Gail, Dickie, Stevie, and Cindy.

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals - Latham Chapel, 181 Troy Schenectady Rd., Watervliet, New York on Tuesday November 1, 2022 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm with a funeral service at 12:00 pm. Burial will follow the service at St. Josephs Cemetery, 40 Middletown Rd, Waterford, NY 12188.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Melody's name to the National MS Society, PO Box #91891, Washington, D.C. 20090 - 1891 or to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741.
