SELKIRK-Michael A. Leto, 35, passed away suddenly on Monday, October 28, 2013. He was born in Albany, NY the son of Victoria (Gordon) Leto and the late Arnold G. Leto, Sr. Michael's talents derived from being side by side with his father Arnold at the family business, A. Leto Bros. Paving Company, who he worked side by side with his brother, Steve. His greatest joy in life was his children. He loved making breakfast and watching cartoons with his children on Sundays. Michael enjoyed boating, quad riding and vacationing in Florida with his family. He loved having his friends and family over to the house and spending time with them. Michael had a big heart. If you needed him, he would always be there for his family and friends. He was so loved and will be missed by many.
In addition to his mother, Michael is survived by his wife Michele (Weir) Leto; his beloved children Michael A. Leto, Jr. ("Kooker" Who made his father so proud of the choices he made to become the wonderful young man that he is, and he loved being with his son riding the quads) and Olivia Leto (Scump, who he always told was his best girl and the apple of his eye); his siblings the late Kathleen Leto-Rankin, the late Arnold G. Leto, Jr. (Jacquie), Anthony M. Leto, Michael J. Leto (Brenda); Diane M. Leto-Cioccke (Giovanni) and Steven M. Leto. He is also survived by his aunts Patty Faragon, Cathy Gebhardt (Jack), and Janet Boni (who taught Michael his first word); uncles Tom Gordon, Steve Gordon and Neil Luther; maternal grandparents Rose and Tom Gordon (that loved him so much); mother in law Judith Weir; sisters in law Kerry Tierney, Kirstin McCarthy (James) and Clorece Weir; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
In addition to his father, Michael was predeceased by his paternal grandparents Joseph and Ruth Leto.
Calling hours will be held from 5 to 8 PM on Sunday, November 3, 2013 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie.
A funeral service will be held at 10 AM on Monday, November 4, 2013 at the funeral home.
Interment will be at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie.
