STILLWATER – Michael A. Mangan, 61, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 18, 2005 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Michael was born on August 1, 1943 in County Limerick, Ireland to the late Michael and Bridget Nash Mangan.
Michael served in the US Air Force from 1962 to 1968. He was a self-employed plumber in the Capital District for 20 years.
Michael was a musician, singer, songwriter, acoustic and bass player and he enjoyed golfing and family gatherings. He was a bass player for The Galway Blazers.
Michael is survived by his life partner of 12 years, Elona Cadman of Stillwater; his children, Michele Mangan and Tonya (John) Mangan-Mabie all of Catskill, Kevin Mangan of Bowling Green, KY and Myles Mangan of King Ferry, NY; his sisters, Mary (Noel) Murphy and Kathleen Mangan; his brothers, James and Gerard Mangan; and his grandchildren, Kassandra Reininger, Dakota Wilcox, James Michael Mangan and Karissa Mabie. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Eileen Mangan and a brother Thomas Mangan.
A memorial mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the Blessed Sacrament Church, 609 Central Ave. at Colby St. in Albany. There will be no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Samuel Stratton VA Medical Center, 113 Holland Ave., Albany, NY 12208 and/or The Community Hospice of Saratoga, 179 Lawrence St., Saratoga Springs, NY 12866 in memory of Michael A. Mangan.
