LATHAM - Michael A. Meade, 61, passed away on Monday, January 7, 2013 at Barnwell Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Valatie.
Michael was born on May 7, 1951 in Albany and was the son of the late Alan L. and Eileen Ann (Kelly) Meade. He was also predeceased by his brother, Denis B. Meade.
Michael was a substance abuse counselor for many years for various facilities in Florida. He loved music, reading, motorcycles and watching old movies.
Michael is survived by his brothers, Mark K. Meade and David E. Meade both of Rotterdam; his niece, Nicole Meade; his nephew, Brian Meade; and his stepmother, Ruthann Meade of Montour Falls, NY.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment of Michael's urn will be held in the spring of 2013.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to any substance abuse program facility in memory of Michael.
