ALBANY – Michael C. Coluccio, 18, of Albany, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family and friends.
Mike's five year battle with leukemia was an inspirational and valiant journey. He has shared his caring and loving smile, his generous heart of gold and his unique sense of humor with all of his loved ones. Mike was a senior at Albany High School where he participated in ski club, swim team, robotics and baseball. He was able to enjoy his senior prom last month. Mike played with the Capital District Rugby team. He was an avid New York Yankee fan.
He is the loving son of Frank and Pamela Fleming Coluccio and the beloved brother of Christina and Rocco Coluccio. He is the cherished grandson of Jennie Coluccio and the late Rocco Coluccio. Frederick and Ginnie Fleming and the late Louis and Virginia van Dyck; He is the nephew of Lynne (Larry) Kelley, Nicola (Lillian) Coluccio, Catherine (Danny) Marrello, Maria Mesiti (late Nicholas) and Dominick (Susan) Coluccio. He is the godson of John and Mary Ann Schepisi. Mike is also survived by many cousins and dear friends.
The family would like to thank and acknowledge the multitude of caregivers that have made Mike's journey easier and filled with love. Special thanks to the wonderful students and staff at Albany High School, AMCH D7, Ronald McDonald House, Make A Wish Foundation, Boston Children's Hospital and The Melodies Center for Childhood Cancer and Blood Disorders.
Funeral services will be Saturday morning at 8:30 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie then to All Saints Catholic Church, Homestead Street, Albany at 9:30 where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Friday from 3 to 8 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memory Gardens.
