COLONIE – Michael C. Doss, 56, passed away on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at Albany Medical Center Hospital, with his loving family by his side.
Michael was born on November 7, 1955 in Meadows of Dan, Virginia and is the son of Lula (Largen) Doss Gambill and the late Robert M. Doss.
Michael owned and operated Audio 300, Inc. where he designed and installed customized audio systems. At one time he taught his skills to students at RPI's UPAC, even without a college degree. He was a gifted musician and his second loves after his family were music and boating. He started playing guitar at the age of 11 and music sustained him throughout his life. His guitar playing consistently soothed his soul. His family was everything to him, nothing mattered more than his wife and three children. He fought multiple health problems for the past 12 years but got through the most difficult times with his "warped" sense of humor, spending time on his boat, music and love for his family. He was a member of the Niskayuna Reformed Church where he was a choir member and a member of the Crescent Boat Club.
In addition to his mother, Michael is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Ellen Doss; his loving children, Nina, Darren, and Abby Doss; an aunt and several cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the Niskayuna Reformed Church. Interment will follow at the Niskayuna Reformed Church Cemetery. A gathering will immediately follow the burial at the church fellowship hall.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Niskayuna Reformed Church Memorial Fund for Music, 3041 Troy Schenectady Road, Niskayuna, NY 12309 in memory of Michael.
