ALBANY- Michael J. Carson, age 60, passed away surrounded by family on January 3, 2021 at St. Peter's Hospice Inn.
He was born in Albany, the son of the late Floyd Carson and Jean Albert.
Michael retired in 2015 from the NYS Education Department after 30 years of service, as a Customer Service Representative in the Professional Licensing Division. He graduated from Albany High School. He loved deep sea fishing, ice fishing and hunting. He loved celebrating the 4th of July with family and friends.
Michael is survived by his wife Margaret; children: Michael Carson Jr. (Christine), Zachary Carson and step son Daniel Bartoszek; grandchildren: Michael Carson III and Justin Carson; siblings: Penny Beattie (Burris) and Daniel Carson (Sharon); a niece, Stephanie Zimmer (Steven) and two nephews, Daniel Carson Jr. and Andrew Beattie (Amy). Also survived by numerous cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his calling hours on Sunday, January 10, 2021 from 5 to 7 p.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY 12205. Gathering size, within our chapels will be based on the most current NYS occupancy requirements. Masks are required and social distancing is to be observed inside and outside of our chapels.
Funeral services will be Monday, January 11, 2021 at 10 a.m. at Christ Our Light Catholic Church, 1 Maria Drive, Loudonville, NY, where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Please only enter the Church from the front entrance. Masks and social distancing are required. Church Ambassadors will be available to help with seating and questions and please attempt to arrive 15 minutes prior to the scheduled Mass time.) Interment will follow at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie.
