Guilderland – Michael A. Charron, 46, passed away suddenly on Thursday March 7th 2013. He was born in Cincinatti, OH to Marc and Jeannette Charron.
Michael graduated from Clarkson University where he was a member of the prestigious Omicron Pi Omicron Fraternity. He earned his B.S. in Electrical Engineering in 1988 and his M.B.A. in 1989. After college Michael served his country courageously in the U.S. Air Force. He was stationed at The Los Angeles Air Force Base as a member of the satellite program. Michael worked for General Electric for 7 years, in both their Transportation and Global Xchange divisions. He also worked for Cessna Aircraft, where he learned to fly a plane, and Textron Corporate. Michael's entrepreneurial spirit, and work ethic led him to start many of his own businesses. His latest venture was Unimacts Inc., which he started with four of his friends from G.E. and served as V.P. of Operations, doing international global sourcing solutions. He recently launched JuiceScoop.com, an energy research website. Michael was also President of Helderberg Partners. He held two 6Sigma blackbelt certifications, his Professional Engineering License, and was also a Certified Purchasing Manager. Michael was a founding member of the Make Organization, for people who want to invent products, at the Edison Center. He also loved to invent devices for the movie industry, worked on antenna technology, and wind power. Michael loved to spend time with his family, travel the world, exercise, drive his convertible, and sail on Lake George.
In addition to his parents, Michael is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Jennifer Charron; his adoring children Alex and Nicole; and his sister Rachel (Matt) Brace.
Memorial calling hours will be held from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. A Memorial Service will follow at 5 p.m. Interment will be at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
