Michael D. Dunn, Sr.

NASSAU – Michael D. Dunn, Sr., 61, passed away on Thursday, September 05, 2013 after a long illness. He was born and raised in Albany and was the beloved son of the late LeRoy E. and Mary Dunn. After living in Albany as a child, Michael lived in the Nassau area. He was a self-employed, talented carpenter and was a former teacher at Questar School in Rensselaer County. Michael was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing. He was also a friend of Bill W.


Michael is the devoted father of Michael D. (Jenn) Dunn Jr. and Mark A. (Tina) Dunn. He is the cherished brother of Jack (Lynn) Dunn, Patrick (Maude) Dunn, Sharon (Robert) Bucci, Deanna (Jesse) Taber, Christina (Dan) Fryer, Mary (Jack) Kent and the late Robert Dunn. Also surviving are his loving grandchildren, Tyler, Rylee and Dakoia and several nieces and nephews.


Funeral services will be Monday at 10:00 a.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will be Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 440 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205 or the American Cancer Society, 1 Penny Lane, Latham, NY 12110 in memory of Michael D. Dunn Sr.
