Michael E. Hudy

WATERVLIET – Michael E. Hudy, 77, passed away on Wednesday, January 09, 2013 at St. Mary's Hospital in Troy, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Troy, he was the son of the late Anthony and Stella Hudy. Mike was a graduate of LaSalle Institute in Troy and a U.S. Navy veteran. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Albany for nearly forty years before retiring. Mike enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling, photography and cooking. He especially loved spending time with his cherished granddaughter and watching her soccer games.


Mike is the beloved father of Joanne Hudy and Christine (Michael) Torrey. He is the cherished "Papa" of Ciara Torrey. Mike is the brother of Joan (the late Joseph) Zielnicki). Mike is the longtime, loving companion of Lillian Woitovich. He is the former husband of Frances Hudy. Also surviving are two nephews and one niece. The family would like to thank the staff on A2 at Van Rensselaer Manor Nursing Home for all of the care and love they gave to Mike during his stay.


Funeral services will Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). A calling hour will precede the service from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be private in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville. At the request of the family, memorial contributions would be appreciated to the Alzheimer's Association of Northeastern NY, 4 Pinewest Plaza #405, Albany, NY 12205 or Community Hospice of Rensselaer, 295 Valley View Blvd., Rensselaer, NY 12144 in memory of Michael E. Hudy.
