Michael Henry Parvis Jr., 96, of Albany, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2014 at Daughters of Sarah Nursing home.
Michael was born December 2, 1918, at Albany, the son of the late Michael Henry Parvis Sr. and Helen (Thayer) Parvis.
Michael proudly served with the United States Army/ Air Force during WWII, with the 17th Bomb Group.
He loved working on his 1969 Camaro Pace Car after retiring from the family business, Parvis Pies. He enjoyed working in his garden and was an all around "Mr. Fix It". He was also an avid Yankee fan and loved watching NASCAR.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Vera J. Whipple.
Michael is survived by his children, Michael Henry Parvis III, Diane Linda Ditton and Jeffrey Robert Parvis; his grandchildren, Jaime, Michael , Kelly, Nicole, Cassidy, Dylan, and Sue; his great grandchildren Crystal, Brandon, Sadie, Emma, Michael V, Izabella, and Austin. He is also survived by his longtime companion, Eleanore Reese.
Funeral Service will be on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at 12:00 pm at New Comer Funeral Home 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. Calling hours will precede the service from 10:00 to 12:00 at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Prospect Hill Cemetery.
