Michael J. Deluca

Gloversville- Michael J. DeLuca, 51, formerly of Albany, died suddenly on Thursday, January 18, 2007. Born in Schenectady he is the beloved son of Arthur A. DeLuca and the late Norma Dunn DeLuca. Michael was a graduate of Vincentian Institute. He retired from the Albany Police department and was currently employed at the Holiday Inn in Gloversville. Michael will be remembered for his kindness, generosity and unique sense of humor. He was a free spirit who enjoyed life to the fullest.
Michael is survived by his wife Barbara Gage DeLuca; his brother and sisters, Lisa (John) Tedesco, Dale Riegel (Ed Bonacker), Sandra (George) McGowan, Nina (Gerald) Furman, Arthur Anthony DeLuca, Jr. and Barbara DeLuca. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Tara Luizzi, Aimee Geraci, Mia, Amanda and Tony Tedesco, Jude (Jill) Kaiser and Matthew Kaiser, and his cherished cat Mussolini.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 8:15 AM at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.), then to St. Catherine of Siena Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 AM. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Troy. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mohawk and Hudson River Humane Society, Oakland Avenue, Menands, 12204, in memory of Michael J. DeLuca.
