Michael J. Haggerty Sr.

LOUDONVILLE – Michael J. Haggerty Sr., 71 passed away on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at St. Peter's Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Albany, he was the son of the late Richard P. and Rose (Valente) Haggerty Sr. He graduated from Cardinal McCloskey High School – Class of 1962. Michael joined the IBEW 724 and was an electrician for 50 years. He enjoyed camping, Saratoga Race Track, was an avid NY Yankees and NY Giants fan and a member of the Albany Elks Lodge #49.
Michael is the loving and devoted husband of 51 years to Maureen (Looney) Haggerty; loving father of Michael (Kathy) Haggerty of Corona, CA, Jill (Jerry) Buff Jr. of Altamont, Jeffrey Haggerty of Colonie and the late Kelly Haggerty; brother of Mary Ann (Henry) Rosenzweig, Timothy Haggerty, Jack (Michele) Haggerty, Joseph Haggerty and the late Patricia Haggerty, Richard Haggerty Jr., and Joyce Carroll; cherished grandfather of Shawn, Nicole, Gregory, Brooklyn, Matthew, Dallas, James, Jerrod, Kaleigh, and Christian and adored great grandfather of Nathan. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and his faithful walking buddy "Cody".
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. Friday at Historic St. Mary's Church on Capitol Hill, 10 Lodge Street, Albany. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery in Colonie.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in memory of Michael.
