Michael J. Sasso, 84, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 17, 2013 at Albany Memorial Hospital with his family by his side. He was born in Albany to the late Pasquale and Donata (Viggiano) Sasso. Michael proudly served with the United States Army during the Korean War. He worked for over 30 years with the United States Postal service in Albany until his retirement. Michael enjoyed bowling, the Wii (especially bowling), singing, dancing and having fun. He loved to be around people, mostly his family.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his loving wife, Marilyn (Vennard) Sasso; his angelic daughter Donna Marie Sasso; 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
Michael is survived by his beloved daughters; Barbara Jean (Terry) Shields, Patricia Ann (Doug Mitchell) Sasso, Ann Marie (Derek) Mahlitz. He is the cherished grandfather of Tina Marie (Bill), Bryan (Jen), Lisa Marie, Courtney, Abigail, Hunter, Cameron, Karsyn, the adored great grandfather of Antonio Joseph, Aiden Joseph and Donna Marie. He is the brother of Jane Bendetti and Grace Thornton. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00 am at the Cathedral of Immaculate Conception, the corner of Eagle St and Madison Ave. Calling hours will be Friday from 4 to 8pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
