Michael J. Sickles

Colonie – Michael J. Sickles, 54, passed away peacefully at his residence on Thursday September 25, 2014. Born in Albany, he is the son of Sera Hotaling and the late Paul J. Sickles, Sr.

Mike was employed as a Parts Manager for several local auto dealers during his career before retiring in 2007 from Lia Honda. Mike was a life member of Shaker Road Fire Dept. and served as; Chief, President and Vice President during his tenure. He also helped to serve others by volunteering as an EMT for the town of Colonie. Mike was a former President of the West Albany Softball League and was currently helping with the Lady Bombers.

In addition to his mother, Mike is survived by his children, Samantha Sickles and Matthew (Jaclyn) Sickles; his siblings, Paul J. (Linda) Sickles Jr., Sera (Tom) Stanhope, Mary Ann (Brian) Rouse, Karen (Mozelle) Peterson and William (Denise) Sickles; and his long-time partner Stacey Gilbert-Agan. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Mike on Monday September 29th at Christ Our Light Church in the FR. Noone Hall at 10 a.m. Interment will be at Memory Gardens. Calling hours for Mike will be held on Sunday September 28th from 2-5 p.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd.
