COLONIE - Michael L. Pendleton (Igg/Iggy), 32, passed away on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at St. Peters Hospital after a brief illness. Born on October 22, 1981, he was the son of John L. and Irene (Johnston) Pendleton.
Along with his parents, Mike is survived by his sister, Lori (Bill) Donato, his brother John S. (Jodi) Pendleton, and sister Jennifer (Kevin) George; his five nieces and nephews, Austin and Alysa Brino, Breya Filkins, and Caden and Miley George. He is also survived by countless aunts, uncles and cousins who will all miss him dearly. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents Louise and Earl Johnston, and his paternal grandparents Catherine Barentse and Ralph Pendleton.
At age 18, a young entrepreneur, he became the sole owner and proprietor of Pendleton's Lawn and Landscaping. He started his business by going door to door mowing lawns and developed it into a huge success. It all began when he was a young boy spending all of his free time with his father, who was also his best friend. Those who knew Mike best, would say that he had an infectious laugh and devilish smile. He had a knack of making people laugh, usually at their own expense. Mike would always tell you he was "right around the corner" and then show up two hours late, even to his own BBQ's. He held his family in the highest regard, especially his nieces and nephews, who he would often take with him and cause their parents to have heart attacks. Mike was friends with everyone but only held a few close to his heart. Every one that truly knew Mike couldn't help but love him.
A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, June 30, 2014 at 9am at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, June 29 2014 from 2pm-6pm at the funeral home. Interment will be at Memory Gardens immediately following the service.
