Michael J. Liskey, 64, passed away on August 19th, 2021.
Michael is survived by many cousins including John and Cynthia (Poleto) Ainsley and their children: Jack , Matt, Michael, and Lily, with whom he lived for several years. He was predeceased by many beloved family members, including his Mother Stella (Poleto) Liskey, his father Harry Liskey, as well as his twin brother and best friend, Stephen P. Liskey.
Though Michael's life was never the easiest, he still managed to bring joy to all who knew him. Michael was truly full of life. He was a kind soul who found contentment in the little things of life. He loved to share old stories, and could talk to anyone about sports, westerns, family history, and politics. He always loved seeing family at summer cookouts or holiday dinners, dancing, and music—especially Crosby, Stills & Nash and Neil Young. He was an avid Yankees, N.Y. Giants and Notre Dame fan, who loved the opportunity to engage in friendly banter with Red Sox fans. Michael never missed a chance to watch all of his cousins play sports, and he was their biggest fan. He was also a retired member of CSEA Local 660, where spent many years working nights at the State Capitol.
Michael touched so many lives, and those who met him were made better by knowing him. He brought us all many years of smiles, laughs and great memories. He reminded us to appreciate all that we're given in this life. We will miss you dearly, and now that you're reunited with Stella and Stephen in heaven, we pray you rest in peace, Michael.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday September 2, 2021 at 3:00pm at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery in Colonie.
