Michael Daugherty McDonald, Jr., the son of Michael and Kathryn McDonald, was born in Buffalo, NY on July 13, 1943, and moved to Albany, NY in the 1940s.
He married Patricia Ann (Delaney) McDonald in 1969, with whom he raised three children: Doris Susan McDonald, Michael Daugherty McDonald, Jr., and Alexander Patrick McDonald. Proud grandfather of five: Michael Daugherty McDonald, Jr., Ryan Elisabeth McDonald, Alexander William McDonald, Gemma Rosalie Forgue, and Cormac George Forgue.
Michael proudly served his country as a Captain in the United States Army in Vietnam, and he subsequently worked as an attorney with the NY State Dept. of Transportation. Michael was a loving parent and grandparent, a loyal fan of Alabama Crimson Tide football, the NY Mets, , NY Giants, and Buffalo Sabers.
He will be remembered by friends and family for his smile, his laugh, his enjoyment of life, his love of animals, and his undying love for his family. Michael passed away peacefully on July 20, 2022, and the joy he brought to this world will live on with those of us blessed to have him in our lives.
Calling hours will be held at Our Lady of the Assumption, 498 Watervliet-Shaker Rd, Latham, New York on Monday August 1, 2022 from 9:00 am to 10:00 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 am at Our Lady of the Assumption.
Burial will follow the Mass at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, NY at 12:00 pm.
