COLONIE – Michael Moran, 85, passed away on Friday, September 14, 2007 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Michael was born on December 22, 1921 in Mohill, County Leitrim, Ireland and was the son of the late John and Cecilia Moran. He immigrated to the United States in 1963. He retired from the NYS Office of General Services.
Michael was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians in Albany for over 40 years and was Hibernian of the Year in 1991. He was also a communicant of St. Clare's Catholic Church in Colonie. He enjoyed singing, gardening, story telling and traveling back to Lovely Leitrim.
Michael is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Theresa Moran; his children, Brendan Moran of Wilton, Monica Haldeman of Colonie, Mary Gavin of Chatham, Kieron Moran of Fredericksburg, VA and Damian Moran of Longmont, CO; his brothers, Frank (Anne) Moran of Galway, Ireland and Tommy Moran of Atlanta, GA; 12 grandchildren and one great granddaughter. He was predeceased by three brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.) then to St. Clare's Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie.
