Schenectady- It is with great sadness that the family of Michael Paczkowski announces his passing on June 22, 2018. Michael is now at peace after a long health struggle, which included chronic pancreatitis and the deterioration of his eyesight from Best Disease.
Michael was born in Schenectady to Margaretann and the late Richard Paczkowski. As a native that remained in the Capitol Region, he was a graduate of Guilderland High School and Hudson Valley Community College. Michael was trained as an engineer and draftsman, and also passionately pursued projects as a writer and artist.
As a son and brother, Michael cared deeply about the well-being of his family, and would go to the ends of the earth to support and protect each of them.
Michael was a thoughtful, sensitive and intelligent man. He will be lovingly remembered by his mother, Margaretann, of Guilderland and his sister, Karen, and brother-in-law, Christopher, of Boxborough, Massachusetts.
Friends and family are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated on Saturday July 14, 2018 at 10 a.m. at St. Madeleine Sophie Church, 3500 Carmen Road, Schenectady, 12303. Calling hours will be held on Friday July 13, 2018 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Michael can be made to the Christ Child Society of the Albany Diocese, PO Box 423, Guilderland Center, New York 12085 or the Foundation Fighting Blindness, 7168 Columbia Gateway Drive, Suite 100 Columbia, MD 21046.
