Lansingburgh- Michael J. Pohl "Buz", 67, passed away, Saturday, March 31, 2018 after a long battle with cancer. Michael was the son of the late Edward and Marjorie (Gorman) Pohl.
Buz was a 1968 graduate of Lansingburgh High School. He then went on to serve in the United States Navy from 1969-1973. His tours included a tour of the Mediterranean and service at Chelsea Naval Hospital in Boston. Buz worked for New York State retiring in 1993. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Post #3773 in Lansingburgh and was also a former member of Veterans of Lansingburgh. Buz was a communicant of St. Augustine's Church, Troy.
Buz is survived by his brothers, Ed Pohl (Joyce Brooks), Pat Pohl (Gale) and Tom Pohl (Darlene). He is also survived by his nephews, Brian Pohl (Sabrina) and Jim Pohl and his niece Emily Anderson (Ryan) and several cousins.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, April 5, 2018 from 4:00pm-7:00pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Road, Watervliet, New York 12189. Interment will be private at St. Peter's Cemetery, Troy.
