DUANESBURG- Michael Pugliatti, 68, of Duanesburg, passed away on Wednesday November 12, 2008 at St. Peters Hospital after a long illness.
He was born in Santa Teresa, DiRirva, Sicily Italy and was the son of the late Vincenzo and Santina Trischitta Pugliatti. Michael immigrated to the Bronx in 1961 and began his highly successful career where he operated several hair salons in the Bronx. He came to Albany in 1972 and established Nino & Michael Hair Salon on Central Ave. in Albany. They developed a large following serving the residents of the Capital Region for 35 years. Michael was recognized as an accomplished and talented artist. His passion was to create eccentric and personalized beauty. Mike was a mentor and inspiration to many successful professionals. He was a food connoisseur and enjoyed cooking and entertaining for his loving family and cherished friends. He also enjoyed hunting and fine wines.
Michael is the beloved husband of Venturina Pugliatti. He is the devoted father of Vincenzo J., Michael A. and Antonella Pugliatti. He is the brother of Carmella Pugliatti. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be Monday morning at 9:00 at Newcomer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave) then to St. Madeline Sophie Church, Guilderland at 10:00 where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Sunday from 11:00 to 3:00 at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
