Michael R. Cerrone

LATHAM – Michael R. Cerrone, Sr. fell into eternal sleep on Monday, June 3, 2013 after losing his battle with dementia and Parkinson's disease. Born January 31, 1938 in Albany, he was the son of the late Viola Bailey and Michael Lofromento. Mike retired from the Dept. of General Services in Albany and worked many years prior at the Ann Lee Nursing Home in Colonie.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his loving grandson Earl Jr. Mike leaves behind his loving wife Penny of thirty-five years. He is the father of Michael (Patty) Jr, Earl (Kathy), John, Tommy, Mark, Emerson (Dawn), Paul and Susan (Greg). Also surviving are eleven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, his first wife Jeanne and his second wife Sheila.


Funeral services will be Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will precede the service from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of NENY, Pine West Plaza, Washington Ave. Ext., Albany, NY 12205 or Parkinson's Research Fund, Albany Medical Center A119, 43 New Scotland Ave., Albany, NY 12208 in memory of Michael R. Cerrone.
