Michael R. Mccall

Albany- Michael R. McCall passed away surrounded by his loving family on June 29, 2015 at St. Peter's Hospital. He was 62 years old.
The son of the late David A. and Helen (Rappleyea) McCall, he was born on January 17, 1953 in Albany, NY. He was raised in Colonie, graduating from Colonie Central High School in 1971. He spent many of his childhood summers at the Rocking Horse Ranch, in Highland, NY. It was there that his love for horses began which he carried with him his entire life. Some of his favorite activities with his children were frequently taking them horseback riding and fishing. Michael continued his passion by working at the Saratoga Race Track each summer for the last several years where he developed many friendships and met a number of famous people. Michael was greatly loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
Michael is survived by his soulmate Karen A. Dott; his children: Jennifer McCall, Michael Patrick McCall, Brian McCall, and Maura Amphlett; his grandchildren: Carissa, Alliyah, Cameran, Tristan, and Brady; his brothers: David K.(Diane) McCall and John A.(Patty) McCall; his nephew Chris (Sadie) McCall; niece Megan (Sean) Costello; several aunts, uncles, cousins; and a great number of friends.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 pm on Thursday, July 2 at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 am on Friday, July 3 at Christ Our Light Catholic Church, Albany. Burial will follow at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie.
