Michael Patrick Reedy

Schenectady- Michael Reedy passed away on Monday, August 5, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on February 25, 1966, Michael was known for his zest for life and his love for the outdoors. He found great joy in gardening and decorating his home for every holiday.

Michael's creativity and craftsmanship shone through in the many projects he undertook, especially those he built for his beloved grandchildren. His hands were always busy, building everything and anything he could for his family.

A true people person, Michael had a gift for making friends with anyone who struck up a conversation with him. His vibrant personality and warm spirit made him the life of any party, earning him the affectionate nickname "Waka Waka Grandpa."

Michael is preceded in death by his father, Thomas Reedy; mother, Carol Ann Reedy; brother, Daniel Reedy; and his best friend and beloved dog, Alfie.

He leaves behind his wife of 33 years, Kelly Reedy, who stood by his side through all the good times and bad times. Michael is also survived by his sons: Brandon Reedy and wife Sandra Del Valle, Jeremy Reedy and wife Alexandria Cook, and Patrick Reedy and his girlfriend Maylena Palluti. His daughters: Candace Reedy-Campbell and Vyktorya Sission and her husband Matthew Sission. His brother, Thomas Reedy and wife Sarah Reedy; and sister, Michelle Reedy.

Michael was a devoted grandfather to Christopher Campbell, Jacob Campbell, Nataleigh Campbell, Emilegh Campbell, Cora Campbell, Madilyn Sission, Mason Sission, Henry Sission, Noah Sission, soon-to-be-born Sophia Sission, Michael Reedy, Athena Reedy, and Eduardo Reedy. He is also remembered fondly by many cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

Michael's legacy of love, kindness, and joy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.
