Michael Richardson

Michael "Prince" Richardson, 54, loving father, son, grandson, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on July 10, 2023 at St. Peter's Hospital after a long battle with Congestive Heart Failure.
Michael was born to Catherine Richardson, of Albany, and the late Delmore Johnson Sr., of Haines City. He was raised by his maternal grandmother, the late Juanita Richardson, of Albany.
He was a graduate of Albany City School District before enlisting into the Army. Michael could light up a face, a room, a crowd, and your heart, with his personality alone and he loved to dance and could do the Human Beat Box effortlessly. To know Michael was to love Michael no matter how you met.
In addition to his father and grandmother, he is predeceased by his maternal grandfather Stoney Richardson, his brother Malcom Xavier, Sister Betty Jean Johnson-Smith, and great-nephew Karter Rickett.
Michael leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Catherine Richardson of Albany; son Michael Richardson Jr., of Albany; grandchildren, Amoriah, Amara, and Micha'El Richardson. Siblings Towana Rivers, LaShawna Bobo (Sheree), of Rotterdam, Jihad and Ny'Quan McLean, of Albany, Brenda Johnson, of Haines City, FL, Delmore Johnson Jr, of Winter Haven, FL, Willie Frank Johnson, of Millington TN, Jeanette Johnson-Schartner (Darrin), of Fair Oaks Ranch, TX, Angie Johnson, of Savannah, GA, Inez Johnson-Cobbett (Andrew), of Auburndale, FL Larry Johnson, of Louisville, MS and Laurie Johnson, of Davenport, FL; Family friend William (Solid Gold) Bonds; maternal nieces and nephews, Kameishia Rivers, L'krh Walker, L'nhdyh Bobo, T'nis Sanders, Raven, NyAira and NyLayah McLean, Jay-Quan Rivers, Khry Walker, TySean Bobo, Damien and Nyrese McLean. Michael has 33 Paternal nieces and nephews throughout Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Texas and 38 great nieces and nephews and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
A calling hour will be held on Tuesday, July 18th at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie from 10AM to 11AM with a service to follow at 11AM.
