Colonie – Michael Roscoe Jr., 75, passed away on Tuesday January 28, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Troy, he is the son of the late Michael and Elizabeth Roscoe. Michael was predeceased by his beloved wife Beverly in 2013.
Michael was employed with the New York State Health Department as an Infectious Disease Investigator for more than 35 years, before retiring in 1992. He was also a longtime member of the Midway Fire Department, served in the Army National Guard for more than 25 years, was an honorary member of the VFW Post #8692, and was a member of the Cohoes Music Hall. Michael was currently working on his bucket list, which included horseback riding. He enjoyed being outdoors fishing, but what he enjoyed most, was spending time and being surrounded by his children and grandchildren.
Michael is survived by his devoted children; Michele (James Schmidbauer) Caddell, Keith (Karen) Roscoe, Eric (Debbie) Roscoe, and Kevin (Melanie) Roscoe, his cherished grandchildren; John, Kaylin, Kasi, Keith W., Elizabeth, Brian (Jen), Jamie, Christopher, Curt, Darren, Kellie, Benjamin, Brooke, and Aaron. He is also survived by his sisters; Nancy VanVoort and Mary Lou (Fred) DiScipione, and many brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Memorial Contributions may be made in Michael's name to the Midway Volunteer Fire Department, 1956 Central Ave. Albany, NY 12205.
Calling Hours for Michael will be Friday January 31, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd.
