Michael Joseph Sellie

Michael Joseph Sellie, 68, passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at Albany Medical Center with his loving family by his side. Michael was the son of the late Raymond and Jimmie Sellie. He was the devoted husband of over 12 years to Joyce Aurelia Clough-Sellie. 

Michael retired from SUNY Albany after 37 years.

He was an avid Yankee fan, he loved fishing, smoking meat in the smoker, playing the slots and spending time with his family. 

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his brother Johnny, his sister Debbie, his step son-in-law Curtis Smith, his step-son Edward "Buddy" Christie and his step grandson James Christie.

Michael is survived by his wife Joyce, his brothers, Raymond (Janis), James (Donna), Steven (Darlene), Linda Dedrick and Peter (Ann). He is also survived by his daughter Melinda (Jasper) Singletary, grandchildren, Jay and Natalia, his step-children Robin (John) Christie and Francelia Smith, step grandchildren Zachary and Madyson Christie. 

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Rd., Watervliet, New York on Saturday February 1, 2025 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
