Michael Trigonis

Michael (MIxali) Trigonis, born on July 5, 1946, in the picturesque island of Andros, Greece, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, May 29th. He was a beloved brother, uncle, and loved by all that knew him.

Michael immigrated to America in June 1969, with his family, in search of new opportunities and a brighter future. He joined his father, Konstantinos Trigonis, in the family business as a painting contractor. Together, they built a reputation for quality and dedication in their craft, leaving a legacy with the customers they served.

Michael was predeceased by his loving parents, Maria (Manousos)Trigonis and Konstantinos Trigonis. Though he never married and had no children of his own, his love for his family was profound and unwavering.

He is also survived by his dear sister, Diamando Mitsios, and her husband, Nicholas Mitsios, and several cousins. Michael was a cherished uncle to his niece, Maria (Gregg Pidgeon) Mitsios Pidgeon, and nephews, Anthony Mitsios (Lucia Mitsios) and Konstantine Mitsios (Alexandra Mitsios), and many great nephews and a niece. His love of Greek music and a good time, generosity, and family devotion will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Michael's journey from the serene landscapes of Andros, Greece to Albany, New York was marked by hard work, perseverance, and an enduring love for his family. He will be remembered for his spirit and the love he shared with those around him.

In honoring Michael's memory, his family invites friends and loved ones to celebrate his life and the lasting impact he made on all who were fortunate to know him. Services will be held on Friday, June 7, 2024 at St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church, 440 Whitehall Rd, Albany, NY 12208. The wake is from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, and the Funeral Mass starts at 11:00 am. Interment to follow at Graceland Cemetery, 680 Delaware Ave, Albany, NY 12209.
