Guilderland- Michael Zelezniak 89 of Guilderland passed away after a short illness on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at home with family members at his side.
He was born in Oppenheim NY on May 14, 1932.
Michael was predeceased by his wife Kathryn Jean who passed away in 2016.
He was the founder and owner of Northeastern Stud Welding in Guilderland until his retirement when his son Stephen took it over.
Michael is survived by his children; Susan (Gary Eichenbaum) Zelezniak, Sharon Zelezniak, Stephen Zelezniak. He will also be missed by his grandchildren; Devan Michael Zelezniak, Nicholas (Megan) Zelezniak, Matthew Zelezniak, Sarah Anne and Joshua Lawrence Eichenbaum and great granddaughter Adaline Zelezniak. Sister; Daisy (Herman) Castle, Brother; Walter (Margo) Zelezniak, Sister-in-laws; Charlotte Lichtenberg and Virginia Coleman, Brother-in-law; Richard Abbott.
Michael had a love of all animals, especially cats, dogs and horses. He was an avid Yankee fan. During his retirement, he loved cruising with his family. Having grown up in a family with nine siblings, Michael's family was most important to him.
Calling hours will be held Monday August 23 from 4:00pm – 7:00 pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals 343 New Karner Rd. A funeral ceremony will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at Hamilton Union Presbyterian Church, 2291 Western Ave, Guilderland, NY 12084. Burial will follow at Prospect Hill Cemetery.
