Michelle known as Shelly, 52, mother of two children, (Patrice Edwards and Genevia Jackson) was called Home on Thursday, April 22, 2024.
Shelly was born and raised on February 17, 1972 in Queens, NY. She was the daughter of late Melvin Bussey and Patricia Wright.
Finishing high school and growing up away from the family, then finally rejoicing back with family in the early 90's, she graduated from college with her liberal arts degree. She moved to Atlantic City, New Jersey to better herself in a new environment, which she had given given birth to Patrice. Ten years later she also gave birth to Genevia. Shortly after, she moved to Albany, NY in 2003 to start her nursing career as a CNA which she kept for 14 years.
She loved to enjoy her time with family and friends, especially the adopted children she had all around. She loved exercising until she couldn't anymore, and talking on the phone with her sisters and cooking her favorite meals. Due to her becoming ill from congested heart failure, she never complained about life as she lived her days to the fullest degree.
Shelly is survived by her children: Patrice Edwards and Genevia Jackson; grandchildren: Melani Shook, Janice Shook, Jaston Shook (from Genevia) Cassi'Elle Edwards-Mccall and Mi'lasia Edwards-Mccall (from Patrice). Meoshia G, Eboni E, Lasia H, Jermaine H, and Tisha McCall were her extended children in Albany, NY; sister, Adorna Monique Bussey in Charlotte,NC; brother, Omar Bussey in North Carolina; aunts: Sheila Bussey, with her daughters Nikki and Tyesha in Albany, NY, Renee Bussey in Bronx, NY; uncles: Anthony Bussey of Albany, NY and Richard Neal of Bronx, NY. She was survived by a host of nieces and nephews of many generations.
She is predeceased by her sisters and brother, Elaine Bussey (Elijah Brehon as alive husband) Marion Bussey of Fayetteville, NC, and Joseph Wright of Queens, NY.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her calling hours on Thursday May 2, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. to 12 Noon at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY 12205. All are invited to attend her funeral services following from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Repast to be announced after service.
