Nov 28,1962- Aug 15,2023
Shelby of Altamont, New York, died peacefully at St. Peters Hospital after a battle with ALS, with family and friends by her side- She was 60 years old.
Raised mostly in the Capital Region, Michelle worked in the hospitality industry. She was Co-owner of The Highlands Restaurant in Knox, and most recently at The Marriott on Wolf Road, she was a hard worker and dedicated to her profession.
Michelle had a love for animals, especially horses and dogs. Her sense of humor was contagious, and she brought much laughter to any room she occupied. Her favorite holiday was Halloween because it gave her a chance to be creative and make the most exceptional costumes. Her drink of choice was Southern Comfort and Diet Pepsi.
Predeceased by her parents, Jennifer Schneider and Paul Schneider, her niece Stephanie Sprague and her nephew Christopher Davis.
Survived by her former husband and best friend, Joe Catalano, her sisters, Helen, Sheena, Diane and Debbie and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Never ending gratitude to the American Legion Post 977 in Altamont ( Shelby was a member and occasional bartender) for their dedication and support throughout the progression of Shelby's health battle
Also a Special thank-you to Betty Ann Jackson, who was her caregiver, companion and friend- her commitment to Shelby was unprecedented.
No services at Shelby's request, but the family would like to invite everyone to the American Legion in Altamont, 988 Altamont Blvd for a celebration of life on Thursday August 24th 3-7pm.
