Michelle McClurg, 48, of Rotterdam, passed away on May 9, 2023, at home after a long illness.
She was born in California on June 21, 1974, to Douglas Fewkes.
Michelle practiced cosmetology for many years at home as a hobby and a profession as well working for Paul Mitchell. She also worked for Golub transportation as a dispatcher prior to her sickness.
Michelle became terminally ill in 2014 with breast cancer and gastroparesis in addition to having some other medical conditions, she still stayed positive and cheerful throughout the years. Michelle was initially told she had 6 months to live in 2014 and if anyone knew her personally, you knew she was a fighter and did not back down from anything.
She had an affinity for drawing, writing and animal rescue and always tried to help anyone in any way possible without hesitation.
Michelle is survived by her loving sons, David Henges (31), Troy Newcombe (30) and Travis McClurg (25).
A visitation will be held on Wednesday May 17th from 2pm-5pm, with a service to follow at 5pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd, Colonie NY.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to any animal shelter of your choosing.
