Mildred G. Hammes

Glenmont- Mildred G. Hammes passed away peacefully at the age of 96. She was the daughter of Frieda Augusta Hillman and Edward Gardner. Mildred was the wife of the late George Hammes Sr.

Mildred is predeceased by her son George Mathew Hammes and her sister Margaret Caroline Dasse. Mildred is survived by her grandchildren Steven Hammes (Lara), Tamara Hammes as well as her daughter in-law Karen Hammes. Mildred also leaves behind her two great granddaughters, Kathryn and Madison Hammes.

Mildred was a graduate of Philip Schuyler High School in Albany. Mildred worked for over three decades as a manager for the New York Telephone Company. Mildred was an outgoing, loving, fiercely independent woman. She loved spending time with her family and friends and also enjoyed volunteering for the Senior Services Department in the Town of Bethlehem. She was an active member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Mildred was an excellent bowler, avid reader and enjoyed playing cards Friday nights with her neighborhood friends.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Senior Services Department of the Town of Bethlehem. Services will be at the convenience of the family.
