Mildred M. Mccarthy

COLONIE – Mildred M. McCarthy, 83, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2011 at Resurrection Nursing Home, after loosing a deteriorating battle with Alzheimer's.
Mildred graduated from Albany High School and Albany Business College. After graduation she modeled and was also a dance instructor at Arthur Murray's Dance Studio. She then went on to work mostly in secretarial and administrative positions for Allstate Insurance, US Department of Transportation and Agriculture. After retiring from the federal government, she continued working in administrative positions for the General Electric Company in Schenectady. Mildred loved life, the holidays and had a great sense of humor. She was known for her different outfits and hats.
She is survived by her loving sons, Bryan (Joyce) and Kevin (Paula) McCarthy; daughter, Cheryl McCarthy-LoPresti (Matt); grandchildren, Bryan Jr., Kristin and Holly McCarthy; cousins, Patty and Mary Ann Zelenick, several other cousins also survive her.
Mildred's family would like to thank the staff at Resurrection Nursing Home for the care and support shown to Mildred during her stay.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 AM at St. Pius X Church, Loudonville. Interment to follow in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. (Rt. 155 south of Central Ave.), Friday evening from 4 to 7 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Mildred's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Pine West Plaza, Bldg.4 Suite 405, Washington Ave Ext., Albany 12205.
