ALBANY – Miles H. Cavanaugh, 68, passed away on Tuesday, May 8, 2007 at St. Peter's Hospital surrounded by his loving family, after a brief illness.
Miles was born on August 4, 1938 in Albany and was the son of the late John J. and Jane A. McKeon Cavanaugh, Sr. He graduated from Cathedral Academy, attended Albany College of Pharmacy and Duke University. He retired from PEF (Public Employees' Federation) where he worked as a field representative. He had also served in the US Army reserves medical corps.
Miles is the father of Laura J. Cavanaugh of Austin, TX; brother of John J. Cavanaugh, Jr. (Judith) of Albany, Jane A. Bonavita (Joseph) of Guilderland, Mary T. O'Hair of Indianapolis, IN and Judith A. Zuchero (Thomas) of Scotia; former spouse of Joan E. Cavanaugh of Colonie; and uncle of Joseph L. Bonavita III of New Orleans, LA, Mark J. Bonavita of Slingerlands and Clinton D. Strock of Indianapolis, IN.
Funeral services will be held at 8:00 a.m. Saturday from New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.) then to the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, (corner of Eagle St. and Madison Ave.) where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Agnes Cemetery in Menands. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
