TROY, NY – Milford K. "Cookie" Cook, 82, passed away peacefully at home, in the presence of his family, on Tuesday, July 01, 2008. Born in Albany and was the son of the late Milford P. and Edith Cook. He lived in Albany County for most of his life. Cookie was a U.S. Navy veteran serving his country during World War II. He retired from Niagara Mohawk after 30 years of service where he worked as Supervisor of Transmission and Distribution of Electric in Troy. After his retirement, Cookie and his wife lived in Mesa, AZ and Myrtle Beach, SC. He enjoyed golfing as was a talented craftsman of Kachina dolls. In his younger days, Cookie was a bass violin musician. Cookie is the beloved husband of nearly 62 years to Hope Secor Cook. He is the devoted father of Andrea L. (L. Jack) Agnew, Barbara J. (Bill) Dietrich, Deborah L. (Edmund) Novak and Nancy E. (Ken) Moore. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister, Dorothy E. Heintz.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Colonie. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Rensselaer, 295 Valley View Blvd., Rensselaer, NY 12144 in memory of Milford K. "Cookie" Cook.
