Millard S. Edwards

Guilderland- Millard S. "Ed" Edwards, 84, of Guilderland, passed away on Monday March 24, 2014 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Albany and was the son of the late Millard S. Edwards Sr. and Julia Kegel Hay. A talented craftsman and carpenter, Ed built and remodeled many homes throughout the Capital Region, including his home, his children's and the homes of several other family members. He was an avid outdoorsman and cherished his time in the Adirondacks. Ed enjoyed fishing, hunting and the serenity of the Blue Mountain Lake Region. He was a man of simple pleasures who treasured time spent with his family and visiting over a cup of coffee with friends and neighbors.
He is married to his childhood sweetheart Eileen J. Osborn Edwards for 64 years. Ed is the devoted father of William J. (Brenda) Edwards, Sharon L. (Ronald) Apholz, Virginia L. (William) Davis and Peggy Sue E. (Gary) Beadnell. He is the brother of the late Dorothy L. Almy and brother in law of James J. Almy. Ed is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and several others who honored him as Grandfather; a niece, a nephew and several cousins.
Funeral services will be Monday afternoon at 12:30 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie. Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 6 pm and Monday from 12:00 to 12:30 at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Schenectady.
