Colonie – Millicent "Millie" E. Rockenstire, 99, passed away on January 27, 2015 just 12 days shy of her 100th birthday. Born in Colonie, she is the daughter of the late Charles and Orvilla Kross.
Millie was a member of Pine Grove Methodist Church for more than 60 years, where she was active in the Women's Group and enjoyed teaching crafts. She was a Republican Committee Woman in the 10th district for 45 years. Millie volunteered with Meals-on-Wheels for 10 years and she also enjoyed crocheting, knitting and needlepoint crafts.
Millie is survived by her nephews, Michael (Debra) Kross and Charles (Nicki) Kross. She is also survived by two great-nieces, two great-nephews, and one great-great niece.
Millie was predeceased by her husband, Edward C. Rockenstire in 1976; her brother, Charles (Florence) Kross; her niece, Gail LaBelle; and her nephew, William Kross.
A funeral service will be held for Millie on Monday, February 2nd at 10:00 a.m. at New Comer Funeral Home. A calling hour will precede the service from 9:00 – 10:00 at the funeral home. To leave a special message for the family online please visit NewcomerAlbany.com
