Milton Louis Flood, 73, of Colonie died at St. Peters Hospital on Monday, November 6, 2006. He was son of the late W. Raymond & Marion Van Loon Flood.
Milton was a graduate of the Albany High School class of 1951 where he was a member of the All-City Basketball and Football teams. He graduated from Fork Union Military Academy and attended Richmond University. Milton retired from the State of New York Department of O.G.S. after 25 years of service as an electrician. In retirement he was employed by the Village of Colonie as a "Park Ranger" in his beloved Cook Park.
He was a life member of the Colonie Elks Club and coached Colonie Pop Warner Football, Little League, Babe Ruth, and Senior Babe Ruth for 20 years. In his retirement Milt enjoyed jigsaw and crossword puzzles, rooting for the New York Yankees and watching his twenty grandchildren's many events. He was affectionately known as "Papa" to his family, "Poops" to his friends, and "Coach" to hundreds of area children.
Milton is survived by his loving wife Beatrice St. Lucia Flood of 55 years and his seven children, Carolyn D. Blot, Donna M. Buda, David R. Flood, Milton F. Flood, Bruce S. Flood, Mark S. Flood, and Jan B. Perrotta. He was the proud grandfather of Danielle Hurley, Bridget, Renee, and Michelle Blot, Erica and Matthew Buda, Jenifer-Lynne Marten, Heather Orkwis, David Jr., and Michael Flood, Korey and Daphney Flood, Ryan, Ross, Steven, and Katie Flood, Megan and Meredith Flood, Samantha Perrotta and the late Katlyn Jay Flood. He is the brother of Jean Cowan of Poughkeepsie and Keith V. L. Flood of Schenectady and the late Raymond E. Flood. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be Thursday morning at 10:30 at NewComer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4 to 8 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memorys Garden. At the request of Milton's family, memorial contributions are suggested to the Milton L.
