BETHLEHEM- Milton H. Grounds, 88, of North Bethlehem, passed away on Sunday February 11, 2007 at Our Lady of Mercy Life Center. He was born in Colonie and was the son of the late George and Anna Grounds.
Milton served on the USS Swanson in the US Navy during WWII. He was supervisor with Niagara Mohawk for thirty years, retiring in 1981. Milton was a life member of the Western Turnpike Rescue Squad, Masonic Ancient Temple Lodge F&AM #14 and Nathaniel Adams Blanchard American Legion Post 1040. He enjoyed golf, traveling with his wife and spending time with his loving family.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Betty Grounds; his children, Betty (Lou) Schenck of E. Berne, Ellen (Greg) Hawk of Coppell, TX., Bonnie (John) Jasniewski of E. Berne and Heather (Eli) Rudisill of Selinsgrove, PA. He is the cherished grandfather of Jeffrey Schenck, Matthew Hawk, Leah Jasniewski (John Fleming), Andrea Jasniewski, Kaitlyn Jasniewski, Kevin Grimm and Steven Grimm. Great grandfather of Skyllar Fleming.
Funeral services will be Thursday morning at 11:00 at Bethany Reformed Church, 760 New Scotland Ave., Albany. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4 to 8 pm at NewComer-Cannon Family Funeral Home 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Interment will be in Albany Rural Cemetery.
