ALBANY – Minnie Wade, of Albany, departed this life and made her peace with God on Thursday, June 29, 2006 at 8:45 p.m. She was born in November 21, 1945 to Bennie Clark and the late George Wallace in Lafayette, Alabama. She attended school in Tallapoasa County and moved to New York in the early 1970's. Minnie was employed at Albany Medical Center for seven years and at the Albany Yellow Bus Company for seven years. She also worked for Dr. and Mrs. Morris Stainbock for fifteen years. Minnie was a faithful member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church and served in the choir until her poor health prevented her. She leaves to cherish her memory, her mother, Bennie Clark; her son, Quincy Wade; her sister, Agatha Oliver and her five brothers, Edward (Carolyn) Johnson, Frank Wallace, Robert (Dot) Johnson, Jr. and David Wallace and his wife, all of Alabama and George (Marylon) Wallace of New Jersey; her grandchildren, Quincy Wade, Jr. and Aldeesha Duncan. Also surviving is her goddaughter, Melinda Jones Douglas of Albany and her devoted cousin Sadie Harper of Colonie, as well as a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her brothers, Willie C. Johnson, Tommie Lee Johnson and her sister, Cherry Turner. Special thanks are extended to the Albany Memorial Hospital staff, the nurses and aides of the Albany Nurses Association and Rev. and Mrs. Daniel.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 1, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Albany. Expressions of sympathy may be made at newcomerfamily.com
