Miranda Rand, born May 4, 1941, died March 31, 2023

Born and raised in England, Miranda immigrated to the United States in 1966 and became a naturalized citizen in 2008.

With a long-held interest in Christian education, interfaith practices, ecumenism and social justice, she served on the boards of non-profit organizations in the Schenectady area, and at Lisha's Kill Reformed Church where she held membership. She was employed as Christian Education Director at Lynnwood Reform Church (2003-2011) and St. Stephen's Episcopal Church (2011-2021). As a commissioned Preaching Elder in the Reformed tradition, she provided pulpit supply as needed to area churches and volunteered at Kingsway Community's independent living facility, providing worship leadership to the residents.

Miranda enjoyed movies, music, art and theatre, visiting with her sister and brother-in-law in Athens, Greece, spending time outdoors and dining out with friends.

Miranda was predeceased by her beloved husband, Alan R. Rand (2014) her parents, Major General Bran and Mrs. Margaret Daunt (1996 & 2006), her brother, Barry Balfour Daunt (1953) and her granddaughter, Leerania Fogarty (2020). She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Gregori and Nikki Lambrianidis, sons Brian G (Jennifer) and Gordon , grandson Brian M, granddaughter Cynthia Ward, and Great-grandsons, Ethan and Nathan Fogarty.

Services will be held Friday June 16th at 10am at the Lisha Kill Reformed Church, 2131 Central Ave, Colonie NY
